Dip a clean towel in cold water and soak it. Now wring out excess water from it. Put it on the affected area for 10 to 15 minutes. Use this remedy daily 3-4 times.

Massage for Chondromalacia Patella:

Massage your knee with essential oil to improves the blood circulation. It will reduce the pain and swelling.

Take coconut, mustard, olive or garlic oil and warm it. Now apply this warm oil on the affected area and massage it gently. Do this remedy at least three to four times daily.

Elevation:

If you are suffering from chondromalacia then elevating your knee level above your chest is the best exercise for runner’s knee. This method will help to increase blood circulation to your knee, which results in the decrease of pain and swelling.

While you sleeping or sitting just keep some pillows under your legs to elevate and rest your knee.

Turmeric:

Turmeric has a lot of health benefits but it also works well for runner’s knee. It reduces swelling and pain effectively.

Mix two tablespoons of turmeric with four tablespoons of olive oil. Make a thick paste of it and apply to affected area. Cover this affected area with a bandage. Remove the bandage after 3-4 hours and wash it with lukewarm water.

Ginger for Chondromalacia Patella:

Ginger is also a very good home ingredient that will help you to reduce pain and swelling in your knee. It also reduces inflammation.

Cut small pieces of ginger and boil it in water for 15 minutes. Add some honey to it for better taste. Now drink this ginger tea 3-4 times daily. Alternatively, you can also use the ginger oil for massage.

Castor Oil:

Castor oil remove discomfort in runner’s knee, such as swelling and pain. It also rich in anti-inflammatory properties which also reduce pain and swelling.

Dip a clean cloth in castor oil and wrap it around your knee loosely. Now cover this affected area with a plastic wrap. After that take a heating pad and apply it on plastic wrap for 25 minutes. Now remove heating pad and leave the wrap on your affected area. Repeat this remedy for chondromalacia patella at least once a week.

Apple Cider Vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar has anti-inflammatory properties that will help you against runner’s knee. It removes swelling and pain from the knee.

Mix water and apple cider vinegar in equal amount. Dip a clean cloth in this mixture and remove excess water. Now apply this on the affected area for 10-15 minutes. Do this daily two times.
